Testing... testing...

I'm trying out the Ubuntu desktop blog publisher.

And apparently Ubuntu's dictionary doesn't recognize Ubuntu as an actual word.

Does now.

This OS is pretty sweet.

I've been writing in a new blog, lately, so I haven't been updating this one at all. http://digitaldarkage.blogspot.com

2007 has been interesting so far...

Spent some time in Montreal.

Weedshare closed down.

Now I'm back in Goose Bay emailing back and forth with different agencies trying to work out some logistics of a new project.

I also need a job and soon.

Been quite a while since I've posted here.

But it's almost summer again.

I've got a few videos I'm working on.

I'll talk about it later.

I haven't posted anything in a while. It's about time.

I'm going to be re-thinking the entire site's premise. I'm giving myself my own personal section to devote to all the various projects I'm working on.

I've got a list of everything from a new circuit that should produce qubits for quantum computers to some plans for a local indoor skatepark at the old military arena.

All in all, if I get better organized it should be easier to stay on track. Right now I'm too scatterbrained to get anything done.

One more update for today.

Elkest has pushed Untrust out of the top selling track position here at newdor.com.

After over a year at the top, 'Eye Opening' has been moved into the #2 position by Elkest's track 'One Hell of a Lifetime'.

The two songs have been tied for several weeks now, but this weekend Julie Anne Gushue, my sweetheart from Corner Brook, broke the tie.
When things start to go right, they really take a flying leap forwards.

I'll just list off a few of them.

YouTube just approved me for Director status already. This means that I can upload full movies if I want. Before I was limited to 10 minute clips or 100MB files. Now I just need to figure out what I want to put up there.

Shared Media Licensing Inc. is offering to direct artists from around the world my way, so I won't have to beat the bushes trying to drum up the few local bands that think they're going to make it big and get signed in St. John's. (A word of advice... no one makes it big or gets signed in St. John's. Unless you're playing something like 'Newfie Traditional' music, the MIANL doesn't really care. Although I could see the Human Soundtrack getting signed. They've got an amazing sound. But unless you're them, good luck.)

SecondLife.com, the 3D world where I'm building my virtual music store, has just provided me with a company willing to help me get my project started for cheap. Not free as in beer, but cheap. Definite bonus.

And finally, even with my 2 days of missed work due to heart trouble, I've still got like 140 hours between both jobs. That means I should be clearing over $800 with my paychecks. Fuckin' sweet because I've been broke for the past week. I've still got to pay off that car accident, but I might be able to save about $100 to buy myself something this week.

Oh... and I need a place to sell my CDs. I'm going to have them on me at the depot and the bar, but I need a good location to leave them to sit. $5 a pop for over 100 songs to preview and $5 of free music when you sign up for an account with SML.

Any suggestions?

Been a little while since I've posted.

I'll try to recap quickly.

In the last few weeks I've:

-been in a car accident.
-had some idiot try to pick a fight with me twice in a public resturant.
-had the aforementioned idiot try to run me off the road with his truck.
-had the aforementioned idiot's ex-girlfriend come to my place of work to freak out and tell me to leave her out of the situation.
-been barred from my favorite coffee spot for aforementioned individual's behaviour.
-had what could have been my first heart attack.
-kissed someone who then confessed their love to me only to have her completely ignore me two days later. (Nothing new there.)
-found two virtual worlds I'm planning on opening music stores in.
-had a girl who swore she'd never speak to me again come up to me to tell me that she still hates me. (still can't understand that one.)
-and the list goes on.

The possible heart attack is being attributed to stress and complete exhaustion. Working two jobs where both of them are short staffed has had me working 130-140 hours every two weeks. Because one of them is a night job that keeps me up sometimes until 3:30 or later in the morning I've found it very difficult to get to sleep at nights.

So... I'm probably going to quit one of both jobs and look for something better.

In the mean time, I've opened up a YouTube account and started working on my MySpace as well. I figure that between the two of them, plus my virtual music stores, I might be able to generate some additional web traffic.

Also, I've finally gotten a handle on CDMenuPro, so I should be able to put together a more userfriendly interface for the compilation CDs I keep threatening to start selling. I'm going to be printing and slinging them myself at both jobs until I bring in enough cash to justify larger distribution capabilities.

More to come...

Time for an update.

Lots on the go. Working two jobs to try to rake in cash to get moving again.

Despite the heat, counting recyclables has a surprisingly zen-like appeal to it.

There was a murder in town. Lots of rumours flying about. Pretty crazy rumors though. Nothing concrete yet.

Also starting an FM radio station. That'll definitely get this whole show on the road.
